ABOUT US
Founded by Mehlenie Adamson, Project G.A.I.N (Get Active and Involved Now) strives to eliminate poverty in Choctaw County and surrounding areas by increasing the education and visualization of resources available.
Project G.A.I.N (Get Active and Involved Now) birthed from a vision Mehlenie Adamson began to have in highschool in 1995. She became aware of the peer pressures and the dilemmas faced being in a rural area. Though these issues (drugs, teen pregnancy, obesity, etc.) are everywhere, areas such as southeast Oklahoma lacks the resources and accessibility to avenues that would offset problems of these sorts.
Project G.A.I.N’s focus is on youth leadership and professional development through L.I.F.E (leadership, innovation, fellowship, education) skills. We address the issues (Suicide, Obesity, Drugs, Teen Pregnancy, Illiteracy, Mental Health, etc.) our community face by developing activities and programs to engage the youth while providing them the resources and information they need to prevent these cycles in their lives and in their community.
Project G.A.I.N, formerly Blessings, is a non-profit organization created to encourage people to accept the call to action, to take an active role in making a difference, to get involved by utilizing their resources (time, talents, gifts, monies, etc.), and to do it now.

GET ACTIVE AND INVOLVED TODAY!
To obtain a building for PG to operate out of. Washington Heights Hope Center will be the headquarters for PG offices, storage, recreational programming, and creative/innovation lab.
SHORT-TERM GOAL
Project G.A.I.N's mission is to network and utilize local resources to build hope in the younger generation by developing unity in the community toward the common goal; therefore producing positive growth that will in turn create opportunities for the youth, and the future of the community.
OUR MISSION
We believe that in order to change the future we had to start with the mindset of our future leaders. And of course we can’t do this alone. PG believes that “it takes a village to raise one child”; by working together we have made great strides in providing our youth hope, unity, growth, and opportunity.
OUR VALUES
PG's plan is to build a youth training facility and curriculum (L.I.F.E University) that will further assist in these efforts and would allow for us to provide this same training for other rural and small towns to develop and improve their youth’s and community’s quality of life. In 10 yrs. we are expecting to have a facility and program that is governed, operated, and sustained by youth.
